Toronto, March 28, 2008

Coca-Cola is powering down.  Today, the Coca-Cola Canada announced their global support of Earth Hour 2008, an event created by the World Wildlife Fund in 2007 to create awareness of climate change.

Coca-Cola Canada is showing their support of Earth Hour through a number of initiatives.  In Canada , the Company will be turning off our major billboard signs, and they have reached out to over 800,000 iCoke members, encouraging them to sign up and participate in Earth Hour.  Coca-Cola Canada is also encouraging its employees to join the effort both at home and at work.

Climate change is the biggest environmental threat to the planet and the number one concern for Canadians.  The Company is committed to ensuring they use the best possible mix of energy sources while improving the energy efficiency of their manufacturing and distribution processes.

In bottling plants around the world, Coca-Cola is investing to improve the energy efficiency, thereby reducing their greenhouse gas footprint.  The Company is working to conserve fuel in the fleet of approximately 200,000 diesel vehicles and has also begun use of diesel-electric hybrid trucks in select markets.
