For the fourth year in a row, Coca-Cola Canada has been recognized as one of the top employers for young people in Canada!

Since 2002 the Canada’s Top 100 Employers Project has held an annual editorial competition to recognize those Canadian employers that offer the best workplaces and programs for young people just starting out in their careers. The competition, which is open to Canadian organizations big and small, assesses employers based on many factors including the availability of programs designed to entice and retain younger employees within the company.

“Making your organization a good place for young people to start their careers is about more than simply appearing trendy or hip,” says Kristina Leung, Senior Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp Canada Inc., which publishes the competition. “It shows all your employees and customers that you are open to change. Employers that understand their youngest workers have the most success in adapting their business models to respond to changing technologies and consumer preferences.”

Three University Talent Programs were specifically cited in the decision to select Coca-Cola Canada as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People:

  • The Supply Chain and Field Sales Leadership Development Programs that have participants build real, first-hand experience in a variety of functions across the business while also building practical leadership skills. Both of these programs are two years in duration and offer senior-level support for participants as well as continued leadership training.
  • Coca-Cola Canada is also proud to offer current undergraduate students a 12-week paid Summer Sales Internship Program which gives students an opportunity to jump straight into the world of field sales and gain useful experience working for one of the most recognizable brands in the world.

Speaking personally, I can honestly say the recognition is well deserved. As someone who is just beginning in my career, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to say that I work for a company as exciting and supportive as Coca-Cola. I’m privileged enough to work with a friendly and helpful team and report to manager that is genuinely concerned with how she can best support me. Ultimately I work in an energetic, fast-paced environment where things move quickly but I don’t feel left behind and that is definitely something worth celebrating!
