The Company’s largest ever Chinese New Year campaign will kick off at Aberdeen Centre

TORONTO, February 4, 2016 – Coca-Cola is ushering in the year of the monkey and sharing a Coke with visitors to Richmond’s Aberdeen Centre during Chinese New Year celebrations this month.

The event, part of Coca-Cola’s largest ever Chinese New Year campaign, will mark the brief return of Coca-Cola’s popular Share a Coke program, giving fans the chance to customize their very own 222mL mini-can of Coca-Cola with their name in English or Chinese characters.

“We’re excited to be sharing a Coke with our fans once again during Chinese New Year,” says Shamus Qu, Director of Multicultural Marketing at Coca-Cola Ltd. “This is a special time of year for families across Canada and Coca-Cola is proud to share in these important celebrations.”

Coca-Cola will be celebrating Chinese New Year across Canada with targeted print, digital and television advertising, as well as an experiential event. And, for the first time ever, Chinese-language Coca-Cola ads will run nationally until mid-February.

The Fairchild Television Chinese New Year’s Eve countdown show at Aberdeen Centre, sponsored by Coca-Cola, will take place February 7 from 10:30pm – 12:10am in the Central Atrium.
