TORONTO, September 6, 2017  With summer sadly almost over and the holidays just ahead, Sprite is setting the mood for fall with the launch of two new flavours--both loved by Canadians!.

Sprite Cranberry is back by popular demand, returning for a limited time now through the end of 2017 while supplies last. It offers Sprite fans a burst of delicious cranberry flavour just in time for the cool, crisp Fall weather. Cranberry is a favourite over the holidays, and is the fastest growing carbonated beverage flavour in Canada, increasing 34% over prior year1.

Also this fall Sprite Cherry will be on store shelves for a limited time in Canada. For the first time, Canadians will be able enjoy the refreshing taste of Sprite with a splash of cherry.

Sprite decided to combine the tastes of lemon-lime and cherry after analyzing data from Coca-Cola Freestyle, Coca-Cola’s self-serve machine that offers more than 100 beverage choices. Cherry in is the No. 1 “added flavour” in Canada for sparkling soft drink beverages served on Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. At the same time, lemon-lime is the No. 2 carbonated soft drink (behind colas) in Canada with teens and millennials2. Altogether, this research shows that Sprite with cherry is a winning combination among young Canadians.

“We always listen carefully to what Canadians are saying they want, and they have been consistently telling us loud and clear they love cranberry and cherry,” says Melanie Isaac, Senior Brand Manager, Coca-Cola Ltd. “I’m excited that we’re offering Canadians more of the great lemon-lime Sprite taste they love with a twist of something new and delicious for the fall season: cranberry and cherry.”

Sprite Cherry and Sprite Cranberry are available in 500mL bottles and 2L bottles, while supplies last. Sprite Cranberry is also offered in 355mL can 12 packs.

Both new options are clear, caffeine-free and made with 100 percent natural flavours. They each deliver the cut-through, thirst-quenching refreshment that fans have always loved about their favourite lemon-lime soft drink.

Sprite and its new cherry and cranberry flavours will be promoted with an integrated marketing campaign (IMC) featuring basketball star LeBron James. The IMC features TV commercials with LeBron to keep the brand top of mind along with out of home advertising, paid search, mobile and social media/online content.
